Hard Rockin' on the Arabat

My mom had knee surgery...shame on you if you didn't send a card and flowers! It's ok, she's doing very well.

Classes are still going well...I probably say that everyday. We did more opposition stuff with Vladamir (John Denver haircut)...so cool to see what our bodies can do if we just tell them that they can do it. Amazing!

The concentration games we play in Acting were kind of tough for me today....brain couldn't wake up. These games are great for your memory and keeping it sharp. Today, for instance, we sat in a 12 person semi-circle like normal and had to go around reciting a poem we all knew. We went back and forth down the circle for awhile and that was hard enough as it was cause I didn't really know Humpty Dumpty or Hickory Dickory Dock.

But we have to make it harder...always with the harder.

While still saying the poem in the correct cadance as if one person were reciting it, we then had to pass it across the circle at random to people by saying our word and pointing at the people we were talking to. Seemed impossible at first, but as a whole I'd say we did pretty well.

Etudes were good again today. Acually they were only ok...could've done better personally. But the important thing is that we're learning how to make them better. This is good, ya?

After class we went to the Hard Rock Cafe on Arabat street, which looks like the main tourist street. Nevertheless, it was gorgeous. Had a very European feel to it...street performers...English letters and words...souvenirs. But it was very pretty and a must to go back to.

My camera forgot it's battery today, so the pictures today are brought to you by Rob Pantano.

Russia Fun Fact: In Moscow, there are fuzzy, cotton balls floating around everywhere. Sergie, our acting teacher, said it was because they ported them over from America where the male and female trees are planted far apart. They didn't think about this when they planted them in Russia, so the trees have the sex and there are now cotton balls galore.

I'm not smart enough to know if he was joking or not...

  2. First of all, the fuzzy balls came from Ames and are filled with evil allergens!! They have been following me for the past 3 weeks.

Secondly, how cool is it that you went to a Hard Rock in Moscow!!! I bet they had really neat memoriblia on the walls! Did your friend get any cool pics of the inside? Is it weird that I am obsessed with the Hard Rock? Problably, but I don't really care (-:
